About class 10
Like class 9, every year more than 20,000 students appear in the class 10 examination conducted by Nagaland Board of School Education. It is usually held in the months of February and March. Prior to this examination, all the schools mandatorily conducts an examination between the months of October and November and only those students who secure eligibility marks or pass marks are allowed to sit in the HSLC examination conducted by NBSE. This examination conducted by the individual schools is also called “selection”. Close to 85% students of all the appeared every year clears the HSLC exam. In this examination, the question papers are set by the board, the students are not allowed to write down their names in the answer sheets and the answer sheets are checked by anonymous teachers assigned by the board.
