About NBSE Class 12 History textbook “Themes in Indian History”
The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has prescribed a comprehensive syllabus for Class-XII History students, and the demand for a textbook that covers all the essential topics has been on the rise. In response to this need, the book “Themes in Indian History” has been written, which is designed to help students understand the subject with ease.
The textbook “Themes in Indian History” for NBSE Class 12 (Arts) History subject is based on the facts and ideas provided by the book “Themes in Indian History for Class-XII” published by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). It covers all the important themes of Indian history, starting from the Harappan civilization to the making of the Indian Constitution.
The book is divided into three parts, with each part covering different themes of Indian history. Part-I covers the story of the first cities, political and economic history, social histories, and the history of Buddhism. Part-II covers agrarian relations, the Mughal court, new architecture, religious histories, and medieval society through travelers’ accounts. Part-III covers colonialism and rural society, representations of 1857, colonialism and Indian towns, Mahatma Gandhi through contemporary eyes, partition through oral sources, the making of the Constitution, and map work on units 1-15.
